Meet Our Staff 2018

UNIT LEADERS

Junior Camp

 Kathie “K.I.” Immerman, Unit Leader for Juniors (7, 8, 9  & 10 year olds)

This will be K.I.’s 31st Robindel summer! She has a Bachelors Degree in Physical Education and a Master’s Degree in Education. K.I. has 40 years of camping experience, and 35 years teaching experience. She is a Physical Education Teacher for grades K-5 in Chatham, New Jersey. K.I. is the calming face and voice to our junior campers and their parent’s each summer. In her free time K.I. loves to read –  she is passionate about social and emotional learning for children. She is looking forward to spending the summer with her camp family!

 Robyn Barnes, General Counselor for Juniors

Robyn is back for her second summer at Robindel. She is from Perth, Scotland where she is studying Child and Youth Studies and has been accepted into her final year of postgraduate primary teaching. Robyn was on the Ropes & Archery Staff last summer and is excited to take on a new role at Robindel. She is looking forward to being reunited with her girls and counselors, and to making new memories this summer.

Intermediate Camp

 Hannah Fisher, Unit Leader for Intermediates (11 & 12 year olds)

Hannah is coming from Cheshire, England for her second summer at Robindel. She studies Accounting and Finance at The University of Salford. Some random facts about Hannah: she has lived in Australia, she can play the flute, and she is a dance teacher in training! Hannah was on the Ropes & Archery staff last summer and was also a B&W leader. She is excited to be back at Robindel this summer in a new role, as the Unit Leader for Intermediate Camp!

 Isabel Owens, Unit Leader for Intermediates

This will be Isi’s 4th summer back at Robindel after being a camper for 9 summers. She comes from a Robindel family – her mother was also a camper and counselor (Unite Leader!) at camp…and her older sister is also back to be a Unit Leader this summer! Isi is studying International Studies at Indiana University and is also a yoga instructor. This fall she will be studying abroad in Chile! After spending 3 summers on the water ski staff, Isi is looking forward to experiencing a new role at Robindel. She can’t wait to spend another summer with the people she loves…and Gary’s chocolate chip cookies too!

 Jillian Field, General Counselor for Intermediates

This will be Jillian’s second summer as a staff member, and she was previously a camper for 8 summers. She is from Demarest, New Jersey and is studying Social Sciences with an emphasis in Psychology at The University of Southern California. Jillian comes from a family of camp lovers – her father and older brother both went to Winaukee and her younger brother is currently a Winaukee camper!

Senior Camp

 Bea Owens, Unit Leader for Feldman & Robinson (13 & 14 year olds)

Bea is thrilled to be back for her 3rd summer (not including her 7 summers as a CR camper)! She is from Rockville, MD where she teaches acting and theatre. Bea recently spent a year and a half earning her Master’s in Musical Theatre Performance in Glasgow, Scotland. After missing a Robindel summer she is very excited to be back! Bea comes from a Robindel family (see Isabel Owens above!); She is passionate about her work at camp and is looking forward to helping the senior campers become role models for the younger campers.

 Amy Boyd, Unit Leader for Juniper (15 year olds)

This will be Amy’s fourth summer at Robindel and her first as a Unit Leader. She was previously the Landsports Department Head. Amy was a Juniper counselor last summer, and while she will miss “her campers” she is excited to have the opportunity to lead Juniper this summer. Amy loves poetry and is currently qualifying as a high school English teacher. Each year she enjoys committing to a new activity, and this year’s activity is swimming! She can’t wait to swim in the lake, and see the campers.

 

HEAD CABIN & OFFICE STAFF

 Marisa Gottlieb, Program Intern

This will be Marisa’s first summer as a counselor after spending 7 summers as a CR camper. She is from Livingston, NJ and is currently studying Media and Communications at Muhlenberg College. Marisa is looking forward to returning to her favorite place with her favorite friends, and to meeting the staff and campers. She can’t wait to share her love and spirit for camp with the Robindel community. Marisa is a Feldman counselor.

Brooke Harris, Program Staff

This will be Brooke’s first summer working at Camp Robindel.  She lives in Buffalo, NY and has been an elementary school teacher in Western New York and Rhode Island for 22 years. Brooke grew up in New England and has great memories of making friends and having adventures at summer camp. She loves running outdoors and reading and even learned to play pickleball over the winter.  This summer she is looking forward to meeting new people and enjoying the beauty of Lake Winnipesaukee. Brooke will be helping all around camp this summer!

 Elle Karbassi, Program Staff

Elle is from Savannah, Georgia but has spent the last two years in the Peace Corps in Botswana. This will be her 6th summer at Robindel. She started with her campers in Willow and is so excited to be back for their Juniper summer after missing two summers. Elle will be working on evening activities, electives, staff appreciation and more!

 Jennie Kleiman, Program Assistant

Jennie is back for another CR summer! She was a 7-year camper and a 5-year staff member before returning to us in 2016. Jennie is from Berwyn, Pennsylvania where she is a 9th grade English teacher and a basketball coach. Jennie’s husband Scott was a Winaukee camper and counselor…and Nat was Jennie’s Dad’s counselor at Camp Takajo! Clearly camp is a big part of her family! Jennie will be leading the B&W program at camp as well as the electives (tag board), evening activities, and special events! She is excited to introduce Robindel to her new baby Allison, Robindel’s youngest camper (4 months old).

 Cheryl Nenner, Senior Sign-Ups

Cheryl decided to come ‘home’ to Robindel in 2012. She spent seven years as a camper at CR (1979-1985) and a counselor in 1989. Cheryl works with senior campers each summer to schedule and organize their Weekly Senior Sign-Up Schedules. She also keeps track of all of the trips out of camp, making sure that Natman and the Health Hut have all of the info. that they need. Cheryl lives in Norwood, NJ with her husband David and their children, Andrew and Nicole (who are campers at Cedar & Robindel).

Jessica Urbasik, Main Office Staff

This is Jessica’s 6th summer at Robindel! She is so excited to be back. Her last summer at camp was in 2014. She was previously a performing arts staff member and a counselor to the girls in J’14 who are now counselors. She is a middle school history teacher and is starting graduate school next spring.

MEDICAL STAFF

 Maxine Marlowe, Medical Administrator

This will be Maxine’s 27th summer at Camp Robindel. She is from Jenkintown, Pennsylvania where she retired from being the Dean of Students at a local school. She has a B.A. in Sociology and a Master’s Degree in Educational Supervision. Maxine is a loving grandmother to four grandchildren. She loves spending time with her camp friends and watching the campers mature over the years. Before joining the medical team, Maxine was a unit leader for juniors, inters and seniors! Maxine is looking forward to seeing how the campers grow from sweet first time campers to mature young ladies ready to leave our beautiful CR and make their mark on the world.

 Lexi Grabon, Student Nurse

This will be Lexi’s first summer at Robindel. She is from Enfield, Connecticut and is currently a nursing student at The University of Connecticut. Lexi is a nationally registered emergency medical technician and is certified in mental health first aid as well as BLS/CPR on a healthcare provider level. Lexi recently completed her psychiatric nursing rotation and discovered that she loves working in behavioral health, especially with children and adolescents. Her goal is to a flight nurse on a critical care helicopter! Lexi currently volunteers as an EMT. In her spare time she enjoys running and is working towards her goal of completing a race in all 169 towns in Connecticut! She is looking forward to being a part of the Robindel family and to supporting the holistic health and wellness of everyone at camp.

 Emily Graca, Nurse Orientation Consultant

Emily is a new graduate nurse from The University of Massachusetts, Amherst. This is Emily’s 2nd summer at camp Robindel and she is so excited to return and help keep everyone happy and healthy this summer. When she is not at the infirmary she can be found paddle boarding or running!

 Julia Herskovits, Nurse

Julia is excited for her first summer at Robindel. She earned a BSN in Nursing from Stony Brook University. In her free time Julia enjoys bike tours, traveling and being exposed to different cultures. She is passionate about helping people who need an extra hand and is looking forward to getting to know the staff and campers at Robindel. She also can’t wait to see Lake Winnipesaukee!

 Kaitlyn Kaiser, Student Nurse

This will be Kaitlyn’s first summer at Robindel. She is from Missoula, MT where she is studying Nursing at Montana Tech University. She is a Certified Nursing Assistant. Kaitlyn has always loved to help people and is interested in the medical field, so nursing was a natural choice. She is excited to get to combine her love of nursing and the outdoors at Robindel.

 Sheridan Lynch, Student Nurse

This will be Sheridan’s first summer at Robindel. She is from Chicago, IL where she is studying Nursing at Illinois State University. Sheridan comes from a family of nurses and has always admired the difference they make in people’s lives. She is excited to work with the medical staff and to help the campers have a fun and healthy summer.

 Alex Macleod, Nurse

Alex is coming (all the way!) from Conway, New Hampshire for her first summer at Robindel. She has 6 children and is also a foster parent. Alex is looking forward to healthy and happy campers and staff and a fun filled summer to remember.

ARTS & CRAFTS

 Nicole Soley, Arts & Crafts Department Head

Nicole is thrilled to be back for her 5th summer at Robindel. During the year Nicole teaches elementary art at a public charter school in Minnesota and makes art at her coop studio in Minneapolis. Her specialties are printmaking and ceramics. Nicole has been recognized throughout the country including her solo exhibition at The University of Nevada, recipient of The Southern Graphics Council International Undergraduate Fellowship, recipient of art and education scholarships from Minnesota State University, The Most Outstanding Presentation Award in Creative Works and Gender and Women’s Studies categories of the Undergraduate Research Conference, and more! Being an art educator is a true combination of all of Nicole’s greatest interests: art, teaching, learning and creating. After missing camp last summer Nicole is extra excited to be back in The Art Barn and to help foster an environment of creativity for the campers. She is a Cypress Bunk Aunt this summer.

 

 Kezia Dixon

This will be Kezia’s first summer at Robindel. She is from London, UK and she will begin studying sociology at university in Liverpool in the fall. She has been doing art since she was a young child, and also enjoys traveling the world. Kezia is looking forward to making new friends from around the world, singing and sharing stories. She is a Cypress counselor.

 Niamh Ni Iceadha

This will be Niamh’s first summer at Robindel. She is from Dublin, Ireland where she is studying Primary School Teaching with a focus in Visual Arts at St. Patricks College. Niamh loves working with children and believes that creativity should be nurtured through arts & crafts. She speaks English, Spanish, French, Irish and is learning Welsh! Niamh’s favorite art disciplines are pencil, watercolor and ceramics. She is looking forward to being creative with the campers and to meeting the staff. Niamh is a Poplar counselor.

 Jenny Raymont

Jenny is back for her second summer at Robindel. She is from London, England and is currently studying History of Art at Leeds University. Jenny loves to travel and often visits her family in Hong Kong and France. She is looking forward to seeing the campers and staff, both returning and new! Jenny is joining her campers in Sequoia.

 Amy Reid

This is Amy’s first summer at Robindel. She is from Edinburgh, Scotland where she studies Physics and Astrophysics. She enjoys surfing and dancing in her spare time. Amy is looking forward to the whole experience of camp and to helping the campers have an amazing summer. She is a Feldman counselor.

 Maddy Sadler

This will be Maddy’s third summer at Robindel. She is from Birmingham, UK where she is studying Fine Art at University of The Arts, London. Aside from art, Maddy likes hiking, camping, climbing, canoeing, rollerblading and PB&J! Maddy is looking forward to being back in the Art Barn, the staff musical, and not having to watch the World Cup at home! She is an Elm counselor.

 Meghan Sweatt

This will be Meghan’s first summer at Robindel. She is from Concord, New Hampshire and is a student at The University of New Hampshire. Meghan’s biggest hobby is photography. She is looking forward to meeting new people this summer and the sunrises and sunsets on Winnipesaukee. Megan is a Feldman counselor.

 Lauren Wright

Lauren is back for her second Robindel summer. She is from Kildare, Ireland where she studies at National College of Art and Design. Lauren’s specialty in the department is Ceramics. She is an avid traveler who wants to experience everything that the world has to offer. Lauren is looking forward to enjoying s’mores, s’moores and s’mores! She is a Robinson counselor this summer.

FITNESS

 Ali Failor, Fitness Department Head

Ali is back for her 4th summer at Robindel! She has a degree in Elementary Education from The University of Iowa and is currently a 3rd grade teacher. She spent her first two summers on the swim staff and has been the fitness department head for two summers, specializing in Zumba! She loves to make up dances to songs for Zumba. Ali can’t wait to dance at campfire!

 Miranda Getreu

This will be Miranda’s first summer as a Robindel counselor after being a camper for 7 summers. She is from Armonk, NY and is currently studying Communications at The University of Wisconsin, Madison. Miranda’s mother was a camper at Robindel and her younger sister will be in Juniper this summer. She is looking forward to spending her days on Lake Winnipesaukee and is hoping to help her campers fall in love with camp like she has. Miranda is an Elm counselor.

 Jess Hart

After 5 years as a CR camper, Jess is thrilled to be back for her first summer as a counselor. She is from Harrison, NY and is currently studying at Vanderbilt University. Jess was the blue team captain when she was in Juniper. She cant wait to meet all of the campers! Jess is a counselor in Poplar this summer.

 Aishling Hehir

This will be Aishling’s second summer at Robindel. She is from Limerick, Ireland where she is studying Exercise and Health Fitness at The University of Limerick. Aishling is a fully qualified fitness instructor, personal trainer, strength and conditioning coach and Pilates instructor. She also teaches swim lessons and is a lifeguard! Aishling is looking forward to seeing all of the campers…and of course the beautiful CR sunsets too. She is a Cypress counselor.

 Rian Herlihy

Rian is back for her 2nd Robindel summer. She is from Cork, Ireland and studies Business at The University of Limerick. Rian was on the swim staff last summer and is looking forward to a new experience this summer on the fitness staff! She can’t wait to see her campers, catch up with old friends and meet new people this summer. Rian is a Robinson counselor this counselor.

 Bree Wilkes

This will be Bree’s first summer as a counselor. She is from New Canaan, CT and was previously a camper for 2 summers. Bree is studying Psychology and English at Union College and plans to go to law school in the future. She loves to work out! Bree is looking forward to meeting all of the new campers who have joined the Robindel family since her Juniper summer, and she can’t wait to see her camp friends too. Bree is a Willow counselor.

GYMNASTICS

 Orla Whelan, Gymnastics Department Head

This will be Orla’s third summer at Robindel. She is coming to us from Dublin, Ireland where she earned a degree in Sports and Leisure Management. Orla is a two time All-Ireland champion in Gymnastics and a Level 3 European Champion in Cheerleading. Her specialty is strength training and flexibility. At home, Orla is also a swim and cheerleading coach. Orla is looking forward to leading the department again this summer and to being back with her J’18 girls.

 Aoibheann Mac Giolla Riogh

This will be Aoibheann’s first summer at Robindel. She is from Dublin, Ireland and is currently studying Health and Performance Science at University College Dublin. Aoibheann has her Level 1 Coaching Certificate for Gymnastics and competed for many years as a child. She is fluent in 4 languages and has good knowledge of 3 more! Aoibheann is looking forward to meeting new people and exploring this summer. She is a Feldman counselor.

 Rosie Perrett

Rosie is coming from Glasgow, Scotland for her first summer at Robindel. She is studying Sport & Physical Activity at Strathclyde University. Rosie has competed in gymnastics for 8 years and also plays netball for her university team. She is looking forward to working with the campers and having a fun summer. Rosie is a Willow counselor this summer.

 Elissa Smith

This is Elissa’s first summer at Robindel. She is from South Yorkshire, UK and is currently studying Performing Arts at university. She has taught gymnastics for many years and is looking forward to working with the campers. She is excited to make new friends, gain new experiences and have a positive impact on the campers. Elissa is a Poplar counselor.

LANDSPORTS

 Tori Engler, Landsports Department Head

Tori was an 8-year Robindel camper and is back for her third summer as a staff member. She is from Boca Raton, Florida and is currently studying Information Technology at The University of Michigan. Her specialties in Landsports are basketball, soccer and lacrosse. She is the president of the Club Lacrosse Team at Michigan, plays intramural soccer, and played four years of high school lacrosse and basketball. Tori loves to run in her free time. She met her best friends in the world at Robindel and is looking forward to this summer – seeing her campers become leaders and seeing how campers have improved at landsports throughout the year. Tori is a Juniper counselor.

 Sabrina Blotner

Sabrina was a 7 year camper at Robindel and is excited to be back as a counselor. She is studying Business at Brandeis University. Her specialties in the department are Basketball and Volleyball. Sabrina’s sister, cousins and mother were all campers at Robindel! She was an all-star high school volleyball and tennis player and was the captain of her basketball team. Sabrina is looking forward to Sunday night campfires with her campers. She will be a Birch counselor this summer.

 Kylie Halpern

Kylie was a 7-year camper at Robindel and is back for her first summer on the CR Staff. She is from Hewlett, NY and is currently studying Family Studies at Syracuse University. As a camper Kylie participated in every landsports intercamp offered! She played varsity soccer, basketball and lacrosse all 4 years of high school. She is looking forward to returning to her favorite place as a counselor and hopes to be a positive role model for the campers. Kylie can’t wait to dance at Sunday campfires, jump in the lake on hot days, and create life long memories with new and old friends. She is a Maple counselor.

 Emma Lady

This will be Emma’s first summer at Robindel. She is from Richmond, Indiana and is currently studying Global Management at Earlham College with the goal of becoming an athletic director. Emma’s specialties are soccer and lacrosse. Her coach at college was a previous CR staff member! Emma is looking forward to living on the east coast for the summer and to meeting the campers. She is a Sequoia counselor.

 Michal Pigula

Michal is excited to return to Robindel for his 5th summer. He is from Slovakia where he translates for the EU parliament and teaches English at a private language school. Michal speaks English, Slovak, Russian and Italian. He is passionate about language and decided to use his skills and major in teaching English to adults, which can vastly improve their life opportunities in Slovakia. He was the starting point guard on his university team. Michal’s specialties are basketball and volleyball. He says that “nobody loves being a Bunk Uncle more than me.” He is looking forward to absolutely everything, including getting his silver CR! Michal is a Feldman Bunk Uncle.

 Rosie Townsley

This will be Rosie’s second summer at Robindel. She is from Cary, Illinois and is currently studying Marketing and Non-Performance Music at Indiana University. She hopes to work on the business side of the music industry in Nashville, TN one day. Shannon’s specialties in the department are basketball soccer. She is looking forward to reuniting with her campers and co-counselors and making new memories. Rosie is a Robinson counselor.

OUTDOOR ADVENTURE (Nature & Tripping)

Brie Roberts, Outdoor Adventure Department Head

This is Brie’s first summer at Robindel. She is from Conway, New Hampshire! Brie works for The Community School and is a huge asset to the Robindel OA Team since she knows the local area so well! She is organized, loves the outdoors, children and adventures!

 Marine Billiet

This will be Marine’s first summer at Robindel. She is from Brussels, Belgium where she works in Real Estate. Marine loves working with children and was previously an English teacher in the UK. She speaks French, Dutch, English and a bit of German. She enjoys hiking and being surrounded by nature and is looking forward to contributing to an amazing summer for the campers. Marine will be a Willow Bunk Aunt.

 Erin Lee

This is Erin’s first summer at Robindel. She is from Troon, Scotland! Erin represented The Scotland Girls Handball Team in Iceland at the Viking Cup. After camp she will begin her studies in childhood practice and development. She is looking forward to experiencing the camp atmosphere and meeting new people. Erin is a counselor in Sequoia this summer.

 Maeve Murphy

This will be Maeve’s first summer at Robindel. She is from Cork, Ireland where she is studying Elementary Teaching. Maeve received the Irish Girl Guide Gold Award (the highest achievement in Irish Girl Guides) and has a lot of leadership experience. She was a Girl Guide (like Girl Scouts) from age 6-15 and then a young leader. Maeve loves camping, cooking outside, campfire songs and games and teaching young girls essential life skills! She speaks English, Irish and Spanish and she plays the classical flute, keyboard and the Irish traditional tin-whistle! Maeve is looking forward to meeting people from around the world. She can’t wait to meet all of the campers, learn from them and share with them. Maeve is a Redwood Bunk Aunt.

PERFORMING ARTS (Theatre, Dance and Music)

 Sydni Brawley, Performing Arts Department Head

Sydni is excited to be back for her fourth summer at Robindel. She is originally from Powhatan, Virginia but after graduating from James Madison University with a degree in Theatre Performance she picked up and moved west to San Diego, CA two years ago. She has memorized every song from the musical Hamilton. Sydni grew up in a large family with 4 siblings who are all loud and artistic. She decided to study theatre because she loves to tell stories and she thinks that theatre and the arts are incredibly valuable to the world. Sydni owns a small business called Moon River Print Company – she makes hand-lettered, watercolor art prints. She also lives with the Daniels Family and takes Romy on daily adventures! Bea Owens (Unit Leader) first brought Sydni to Robindel and this will be their first summer back together since graduating! Sydni is looking forward to learning how to play the guitar and to directing the staff musical – Mama Mia! Sydni is a Bunk Aunt to the girls in Elm.

 Sophie Bullock

Sophie is coming from The Netherlands for her first Robindel summer. She works as a children’s supervisor at Stage Entertainment Productions. Sophie has a passion for film, television and theatre and loves writing stories. She studied International Media and Entertainment at university. Sophie is looking forward to sharing her passion for theatre with the campers, meeting new people and having a great summer. She is a Robinson counselor this summer.

 Natasha Courtenay

This will be Tash’s second summer at Robindel. She is from Dorset, UK and is currently studying Physiotherapy at Brunel University London. Tash has her Grade 6 certificate in Classical Ballet, an intermediate certificate in Modern Dance and a diploma in Dance Instruction. She also joined the cheerleading team at university this past year! She says that it reminds her of the Camp Robindel spirit, which is why she loves it so much. Tash has been dancing her whole life and has performed in over 100 shows. She is looking forward to seeing her Willow girls a year older and helping them take on the responsibility of not being the youngest campers any more! Tash is a Poplar counselor.

 Emma Friedman

Emma was a CR camper for 6 summers and is excited to be back for her first summer on the CR Staff! She is from Greenwich, CT and is getting ready to begin her studies in songwriting at Berklee College of Music. Emma has opened for Steely Dan and Alabama Shakes! She is a PADI certified open water diver and speaks Spanish too! She is most looking forward to campfires and cookouts on Sundays. Emma is a Robinson counselor.

 Jamie Kenny

This is Jamie’s first summer at Robindel. He is from Blessington, Ireland where he works in an office and is writing his first full length play. He also writes short films and sketches for his local youth theatre. Jamie previously had some of his sketches performed for the former president of Ireland! He has wanted to be a camp counselor ever since he saw the movie “It Takes Two.” He is looking forward to being part of the summer camp American tradition, and to the possibility of meeting his long lost twin! Jamie is a Bunk Uncle to the girls in Willow.

 Sarah Long

Sarah is back for her third summer at Robindel. She is from Lookout Mountain, GA and recently graduated from James Madison University with a Musical Theatre degree. After camp she is moving to NYC to continue training and auditioning. Sarah recently finished a semester training with Broadway Dance Center in NYC! She has always loved performing and teaching, and enjoys seeing the campers find joy and confidence through performance. She is looking forward to reuniting with old campers and friends and spending time with new ones! Sarah is a Birch counselor.

 Kirsten Nordland

This will be Kirsten’s first summer at Robindel. She is from Lafayette, Indiana and is currently studying Vocal Performance at DePauw University. Kirsten has earned many awards for her voice in both high school and college. She also enjoys drawing, reading, spending time with friends and sports (softball, basketball, swimming, soccer and volleyball)! Kirsten is looking forward to making new friends and to meeting all of the campers. She is a Redwood counselor.

 Carmel O’Leary

This will be Carmel’s first summer at Robindel. She is from Limerick Ireland where she is studying Primary School Teaching. She plays (and teaches) the keyboard, button accordion and tin whistle! Carmel has a passion for working with children of all ages. Carmel spent the last few summers working in an outdoor activity center in Ireland, and this experience inspired her to seek a job at a summer camp in another part of the world. She is excited to meet all of the staff and campers and to experience life in America. But, what Carmel is most looking forward to is using her skills and experience in Music and Drama to create a fun and memorable experience for the Robindel campers. She is Willow counselor this summer.

PHOTOGRAPHY & YEARBOOK

 Chloe Hudson, Photography & Yearbook Department Head

This will be Chloe’s third summer at Robindel, but she has known about camp for much longer Chloe’s mother and older sister have both worked at camp! Chloe is from Wirral, England where she earned a Wirral Metropolitan Art Foundation Diploma and is currently working towards a degree in Photography at Manchester School of Art. Chloe is passionate about photography and loves spending time outdoors, so taking photos at Robindel is the perfect combination. Her specialty is sports photography, and aside from photography her favorite hobby is horse riding…so you can often find her at the stables.  Gaby Olguin Peasey

Gaby is back for her second summer at Robindel. She is from Hertfordshire, England where she spends her time traveling and taking photos. In September she will start a course in Photography at Leeds Arts University. She was on Outdoor Adventure last summer and is looking forward to spending more time in camp and to seeing all of the campers and counselors again! Gaby is a Maple counselor.

 Maite Teirlinck

This will be Maite’s first summer at Robindel. She is from Beernem, Belgium where she studies Education at VIVES Hogeschool. Maite was part of a photo marathon group in Iceland where her photos were used in an exhibition. She speaks 4 languages: Dutch, French, German and English! She can’t wait to meet everyone and be a part of the camp community. Maite is an Elm counselor.

 Olivia Wilmer-Richards

This is Olivia’s first summer at Robindel. She is from Lincoln, England where she studies Media Production at University of Lincoln. She enjoys playing the piano, swimming and making short films. Olivia is looking forward to meeting new people and joining the camp community! She is a Redwood counselor.

RIDING

 Sara Arnau Lazaro, Riding Department Head

This will be Sara’s second summer at Robindel. She is from Castellon, Spain and is currently attending Universidad Ramon Liull, Barcelona. Sara has been around horses for most of her life and she competes in the discipline of dressage in Spain. She also plays the flute! Sara is looking forward to teaching the campers this summer and to having a great summer. She is a Cypress Bunk Aunt.

Franky Church-Huxley

This will be Franky’s first summer at Robindel. She is from Cheshire, England where she is studying Biology at The University of Birmingham. Franky has been riding for her entire life and has been hearing about Robindel from her friend for many years. She can’t wait to experience camp for herself. Franky is a Sequoia Bunk Aunt.

 Eleanor Housden

This will be Eleanor’s first summer at Robindel. She is from Markyate, England and is currently studying Equestrian Psychology and Sports Science at Nottingham Trent University. Eleanor lives on a farm and works with horses daily. She is looking forward to meeting lots of new people and forming friendships. Eleanor is a Maple Bunk Aunt.

 Chloe Rolfe

Chloe is coming from Surrey, UK for her first summer at Robindel. She has experience in a variety of riding styles – she grew up riding in the UK and also spent a year abroad in Montana. Chloe has a degree in Geography and hopes to have a career in conservation and environmental sustainability. She loves all animals and all sports! Chloe is most looking forward to meeting and teaching the campers, while learning about camp life in beautiful New Hampshire.  She is an Elm Bunk Aunt.

ROPES & ARCHERY (aka “ROAR”)

 Natalie Ellison, ROAR Department Head

Natalie is back for her third summer at Robindel and she is excited to be leading the ROAR team! She is from Spokane, WA and is currently studying Environmental Education at Western Washington University. Natalie loves snow skiing – she works as a coach and instructor in the winter months at Mt. Baker in Glacier, Washington. Natalie grew up hearing wonderful stories about Robindel from her mother who was a water ski instructor at camp in the 80s. She is looking forward to seeing her campers and friends as well as Lake Winnipesaukee. Nat is a Cypress counselor.

 Chuck Bailey

Chuck is back for his 5th summer at Robindel. He lives in Concord, NH and originally started working at camp on the maintenance crew during pre-camp. Since joining the ROAR staff he has realized that he wants to pursue a job working with kids year round. He is an avid climber and enjoys biking and having a good time with friends and family. Chuck is looking forward to seeing all of his friends from previous summers and to making new ones this summer. He is a Robinson Bunk Uncle.

 Jodie Mitchell

This will be Jodie’s first summer at Robindel. She is from Glasgow, Scotland where she studies Sports Therapy. Jodie enjoys coaching people and helping others to have fun and learn, which is one of the reasons she decided to come to camp this summer! She can’t wait to experience a Robindel summer and learn new things. Jodie is a Sequoia counselor.

 Annika Patterson

This will be Annika’s first summer at Robindel. She is from New Hampshire and has always enjoyed the outdoors – skiing, snowboarding, horseback riding and playing tennis. She is so excited to help the campers gain confidence at ROAR and also in themselves this summer. Annika is a Robinson counselor this summer.

 Jayra Polanco

This will be Jayra’s first summer at Robindel. She is from Castleon, Vermont where she is currently studying Literature. Jayra enjoys cooking and dancing, and she speaks Spanish! She is looking forward to meeting new people and to making lifelong friendships. Jayra is a Poplar counselor.

 Josie Sadler

This will be Josie’s first summer at Robindel. She is from Staffordshire, England and she spent the last year as an Au Pair in Brussels. Josie is currently learning to speak French and Italian. She enjoys reading and hiking, and is looking forward to having adventures and making new friends this summer. Her older sister has been telling her about camp, so she can’t wait to experience it for herself. Josie is a Redwood counselor.

 Angus Thomson

Angus is coming to CR for his first summer. He is from Kelso, Scotland and is currently studying Biology at Northumbria University. Angus says that he is a farmer at heart! He also enjoys skiing, tennis and rugby. Angus is looking forward to meeting everyone and experiencing the rural USA. He is a Bunk Uncle for Maple this summer.

 Esther Van Steene

Esther is joining us from The Netherlands for her first CR summer. She enjoys swimming, rock climbing, boxing and workout out in the gym. Esther speaks Dutch, English, some German and Spanish too! She loves traveling, so after graduating from college she knew that she wanted to go abroad. Esther is looking forward to meeting people from around the world and to traveling through America after camp. She is a Willow counselor.

SKI

 Brock Uhlman, Ski Department Head

Returning for his 9th summer at Robindel, Brock brings a ton of experience with him. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology with a specialty in Fitness from Indiana University; he is a Red Cross Certified Lifeguard and an ACE Certified Personal Trainer. In addition, Brock has his USA Waterski Certification. He spent the last four years in New Zealand working as the Head Wakeboarding Coach at M-I-A Wakeboarding. He is also a licensed sky diver! Brock has been skiing since he was a little boy and along the way learned how to slalom ski, trick ski, barefoot, wakeboard, wake skate, wake surf and kneeboard. He loves sports and being outdoors. Brock is looking forward to getting out on the lake again this summer and helping the campers achieve their goals out on the water.

 Abbey Ceh

This will be Abbey’s first summer at Robindel. She is from Melbourne, Australia where she loves to explore nature and spend time with friends. She also plays basketball and netball. Abbey is looking forward to meeting new people and spending time on the water every day. She is an Elm counselor this summer.

 Dezz Curtis

Dezz is excited to be back for his fourth summer at Robindel. He is from Dallas, TX he studied Kinesiology at The University of Texas, Arlington. Dezz has worked in the tennis department for his first two summers and joined the ski team in 2017. He is a PADI trained rescue diver and loves traveling, climbing and reading.  Dezz is a Bunk Uncle for Juniper this summer.

 Carly Dossick

Carly is joining us for her first summer as a counselor after being a camper for 9 summers. She is from Manhattan Beach, CA and is currently a student at Syracuse University. Carly loves to travel and can’t wait to travel back to Robindel…she is looking forward to meeting new people and reconnecting withhold friends in a place she loves. Carly is a Sequoia counselor.

 Erin Griffiths

Erin is thrilled to be back at Robindel for her 7th summer. She is from Matamata, New Zealand where she loves to wakeboard. Erin is excited to be back at Robindel with all of the campers and staff!

 Jackie Kaye

This will be Jackie’s third summer as a counselor at Robindel. She is from Boca Raton, Florida and is currently a student at Syracuse University where she is studying Psychology. Jackie was a camper at Robindel for 8 summers and is excited to be back at Robindel for another summer on the lake. She can’t wait to see her beautiful, fun, spirited upper junior girls! Jackie is a Birch counselor this summer.

 Aoife O’Connor

Aofie is coming from Northern Ireland for her third summer at Robindel.  She is studying Psychology at Ulster University. Aoife is looking forward to seeing and working with her campers again, and to spending another summer out on Lake Winnipesaukee. She is a Cypress counselor.

 Luke Rutigliano

This will be Luke’s first summer at Robindel. He is from Haworth, New Jersey and is currently studying Business Economics at SUNY Cortland. Luke is a collegiate swimmer and a lifeguard. He has spent his summers growing up on Lake Winnipesaukee and says that it is his favorite place to be. He enjoys wakeboarding, fishing and hiking. Luke can’t wait to enjoy an awesome and productive summer on the lake. He is a Bunk Uncle for Elm this summer.

 Ali Yurman

Ali was a CR camper for 9 summers and is back for her 2nd summer as a staff member. She is from Boca Raton, Florida and is currently studying Criminology at The University of Maryland. Ali comes from a CR family – her mom and sister were both campers and her mother also worked at camp for 8 summers, which is why Ali started camp when she was 5 years old! Four of Ali’s cousins were also campers and the youngest one is in Juniper this summer. Ali is looking forward to seeing all of her girls again! She is a Feldman counselor.

SWIM 

 Poppy Davies, Swim Department Head

Poppy is returning for her fifth summer at Robindel. She is from Bournemouth, England and has a degree in Business Management from Bournemouth University. She originally came to Robindel to push herself out of her comfort zone, and she fell in love with the atmosphere and the people. Poppy is a Red Cross Lifeguard and is certified in Water Safety Instruction. She is looking forward to seeing all of the campers and helping them to have the best summer ever! Poppy is a Feldman counselor this summer.

 Carmel Connelly

Carmel is coming from Glasgow, Scotland for her second summer at Robindel. She studies Physiology and Sports Science at The University of Glasgow. Carmel loves all sports, which is why she chose to base her studies at university around sport. She spends most of her spare time synchronized swimming and rowing. She is looking forward to spending the summer on the lake with the best campers, staff and sunsets. Carmel is a Red Cross Lifeguard and is certified in Water Safety Instruction. She is a Birch counselor.

 Saskia Guichard

This will be Saskia’s third summer at Robindel. She is from London where she spent the year designing and managing a children’s program at a health club. Saskia is very interested in fitness, nutrition and health. She is looking forward to be back for her girls Juniper summer! Saskia is a Red Cross Lifeguard and certified in Water Safety Instruction. She is a Juniper counselor this summer.

 Thea Harte

This will be Thea’s first summer at Robindel. She is from Kilkenny, Ireland and is currently studying Physics and Math at University College Dublin. Thea is a Swim Ireland certified swim coach and works as a swim teacher, coach and lifeguard at her local pool on the weekends. She is looking forward to meeting the campers and counselors, spending time on the lake, and having an unforgettable summer. Thea is a Maple counselor.

 Carolina Loureiro de Oliveira Lopes

This will be Carolina’s first summer at Robindel. She is from Rio de Janeiro, Brasil where she is currently studying physical education at university. Her specialty is the swim department is synchronized swimming! Carolina is studying physical education because she loves sports and everything related to outdoor activities. Carolina is looking forward to meeting people from around the world this summer. She is a counselor in Elm this summer.

 Anna Pate

This will be Anna’s first summer at Robindel. She is from Haddington, Scotland where she studies Physical Education at The University of Edinburgh. Anna grew up on her family farm and loves being outdoors. She loves running and riding horses! Anna is looking forward to spending her summer in America and meeting loads of new people. She is a Birch counselor.

 Tara Satnick

Tara was an 8-year camper and is back for her second summer on the CR Staff! She is from Demarest, New Jersey and is currently studying Japanese and International Area Studies at Washington University in St. Louis. Tara hopes to teach English in Japan one day! Last summer Tara was on the Ropes & Archery Staff, and she is looking forward to spending time on the lake this summer. Tara can’t wait to spend time with her amazing Feldman campers who never fail to make her laugh! She is a counselor in Feldman this summer.

 Kirsty Van Onna

This will be Kirsty’s first summer at Robindel. She is from The Netherlands where she is a youth care worker and a PADI Rescue Diver. She loves to travel and learn about new cultures. Kirsty is looking forward to meeting and creating a bond with the campers and staff. She is an Elm counselor this summer.

TENNIS

 “Buffalo Bob” Gamble, Tennis Department Head

This will be Bob’s 27th summer at Camp Robindel! He is from Buffalo, NY where he is a Professor of Education and a Club Tennis Pro. Bob is a member of the USPTA and USTA, and he has a PhD in Education. He is a USPTA Certified Tennis Coach of the Year. He has been teaching tennis to people of all ages since long before any of our campers were born! He is a former Division 1 College Tennis Coach too! Two summers ago Bob introduced Pickle Ball at Robindel and our campers and staff love it! Bob is looking forward to continue improving the tennis program, playing pickle ball with Natman and sitting on the counselor dock at sunset.

 Adrian Campbell

Adrian will be joining us for his 26th summer at Robindel. During the year he is a Tennis Pro in Florida. Campers love to be on Adrian’s court because he is a fantastic tennis instructor and always pushes campers to try their hardest and have fun. Adrian is looking forward to helping the campers with their tennis skills and having fun with the staff.

 Johann Canthelou

Returning for his 26th  Robindel summer, all of the campers know “JOhann!” During the year he is a mathematics teacher. At the moment he is teaching in Romania but over the last 17 years he has taught in France (his home country), Austria, and Belgium and as a tennis teacher in France (his home country), England, Germany, Spain and of course the USA. We are happy to welcome Johann back to camp this summer. He is looking forward to the beautiful evening sunsets and meeting new people.

 Marit Lemmens

This will be Marit’s second summer at Robindel. She is from Leiderdorp, Netherlands and she recently returned to The Netherlands after spending two years studying and playing on a tennis scholarship at Newman University in Kansas. She is now studying Movement Science at The Free University of Amsterdam. Marit is looking forward to enjoying her summer with staff, campers and beautiful weather. She said that last summer was the best summer she’s ever had and she is so excited to return! Marit is a Juniper counselor.

 Tess Lubin

Tess is coming from Wilmette, IL for her first summer at Robindel. She is currently studying Architecture at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Tess is an IHSA All-State Tennis Player and a collegiate tennis player. She loves camping and hiking and can’t wait to be outside all day this summer! Tess is a counselor for Sequoia this summer.

 Trey Mariga

Trey is back for his 5th summer at Robindel. He is originally from Zimbabwe and is currently studying at Weber International University. He is a National Junior College Athletic Association All American player. Trey represented Zimbabwe in tennis growing up. He has been playing for 18 years! He enjoys being outdoors, spending time with friends and family, traveling and sports. Trey is excited to be back for his fifth summer and is looking forward to reuniting with the campers and staff and making new friends this summer. He is a Bunk Uncle to the girls in Juniper. 

 Elena Martinez

This will be Elena’s second summer at Robindel. She is from Barcelona, Spain where she studies Management and Business Administration at Autonomous University of Barcelona. She speaks Spanish, Catalan, German, French and English! Elena is looking forward to helping campers improve their tennis skills and to helping the girls have the best summer. She is a Feldman counselor.

 Jake McCollum

This will be Jake’s second summer at Robindel. He is from Buckingham, UK where he is studying Economics at Durham University. Jake plays the piano, viola, guitar and bass guitar. He is looking forward to being back at Robindel for his second summer! Jake is a Poplar Bunk Uncle.

WATER CRAFTS

 Emma Hope, Water Crafts Department Head

This will be Emma’s 4th summer at Robindel. She was previously on the swim staff and is looking forward to leading the Water Crafts team this summer! Emma is from Jedburgh, Scotland and is currently living and working in New Zealand. She is a Red Cross Lifeguard and is certified in Water Safety Instruction. Emma loves being outdoors and exploring, and clearly loves the water! She is excited to be back on the lake again this summer.

 Jordyn Abrams

This will be Jordyn’s first summer as a counselor at Robindel. She was a camper for 7 summers too! Jordyn is studying Bioengineering at Syracuse University. In her free time she loves to draw. Jordyn is looking forward to meeting her campers, campfires and spending the summer in her favorite place. She is a counselor for Cypress this summer.

 Samantha Berg

This will be Sam’s 2nd summer as a counselor at Robindel. She was previously a camper for 8 summers! Sam is from Newton, Massachusetts and is currently studying Special Education and Psychology at High Point University. She would like to teach high school special education one day. Her specialty in the department is sailing! Sam is a Red Cross Lifeguard, was Miss Teen MA in 2015, and is a motivational speaker. She can’t wait to be back with her campers at her second home. Sam is a counselor for Poplar.

 Nora Hayes

Nora is coming from Ireland for her first summer at Robindel. She is currently studying Primary Teaching at Dublin City University. Nora is an ISA certified sailing instructor. She speaks English, French and Irish! Nora enjoys performing and entertaining and even has her own You Tube channel! She is looking forward to getting to know all of the campers and to spending the summer on the lake teaching sailing. Nora is a Redwood counselor.

 Rachel Horn

This will be Rachel’s first summer as a CR staff member after spending 7 summers as a Robindel camper. She is from Boca Raton, Florida and is currently studying Communications at Tulane University. Rachel says that her summers as a camper were the best summers of her life and she can’t wait to be back at camp to help the campers have the same great experiences that she was lucky enough to have. Rachel is a Maple counselor this summer.

 Conor Houlihan

Conor is joining us for his second CR summer. He is from Galway, Ireland where he is studying Computer Science at National University of Ireland, Galway. He has completed a sailing instructor course and enjoys sailing and cycling in his spare time. Conor is looking forward to spending another summer at Robindel! He is a Birch Bunk Uncle.

 Rebecca Mackenzie

This is Rebecca’s first summer at Robindel. She is from London, UK and she is currently studying Politics and International Relations at The University of Nottingham. Rebecca spent six years as a competitive rower and loves spending time on the water. She is looking forward to getting to know all of the campers and to showing them how fun water crafts is! Rebecca is a Willow counselor.

Emma Rashes

 Emma was a Robindel camper for 7 summers and is excited to return for her first summer as a counselor. She is currently a student at Stanford University and hopes to be a cancer researcher. Emma’s little sister is a current Robindel camper! She is excited to meet her campers and experience Robindel as a counselor. Emma is a counselor for Redwood this summer.

 Matthew Tallents

Matt is back for his 2nd summer at Robindel. He is from Sheffield, UK and is studying Chemical Engineering at The University of Sheffield. Matt worked in the office last summer so he knows all of the campers well! He is looking forward to spending time on the lake this summer and to seeing all of the campers and staff. He is a Bunk Uncle to the girls in Birch.

Joel, Jeff and Craig spend all year at Camp Robindel. They maintain the property and facilities for our use in the summer. If you can think-it, they can build or fix it!

Gergo Babodi

This will be Gergo’s first summer at Robindel. He is from Hungary and is currently studying Business Economics at Dennis Gabor College. Gergo enjoys sports, gardening and working at his family bee farm! He would like to open a gym in his hometown one day.

 

Tomas Emr

Tomas is coming from Prague, Czech Republic for his first summer at Robindel. He is studying Management of Physical Education and Sport at Charles University. Tomas speaks Czech, English, Spanish and some Polish and German. He loves all sports, plays the acoustic guitar and ukulele, and enjoys street dance and music. He is looking forward to meeting new people and making lifelong friends.

 

Matthew Kupcik

Matt is joining us again from Opava, Czech Republic for his third Robindel summer. He is currently studying Transport Equipment and Technology as Technical University of Ostrava. He loves motorcycles, cars and other technical stuff. Matt is looking forward to getting to know the new people at camp and to seeing the returners.

 

Samuel Michniewicz

This is Samuel’s second summer at Robindel. He is from Presov, Slovakia where he studies Mass Media Communications. He enjoys learning about the history of film, television, radio, etc. Sam is looking forward to being back at Robindel, meeting new people, improving his English and making lifelong friendships.

gary Roosevelt “Gary” Garrett – Head Chef

CR’s head chef Gary has been part of the Robindel family since 1960. He is probably the hardest working man you have ever met! You can find Gary in the kitchen late at night or early in the morning preparing dough for his famous fresh rolls. Some of Gary’s other well known foods include sticky buns, chocolate chip cookies, fried chicken and challah bread.

dana Dana Perkins, Kitchen – Second Chef

Dana has been at Robindel for 11 summers. During the year he is a chef at Plymouth State University. Dana loves to fish, boat and ride his motorcycle. He is a US Army Veteran. He has 3 children, 2 step children and 10 grandchildren. We are happy to have Dana back for another CR summer.

Artur Yustus – Third Chef

Artur is joining us for his third CR summer. He is from Ukraine and he is a student at University of Presov, Slovakia where he is studying to teach English and Russian language and literature. He speaks five languages: Russian, Ukranian, French, Slovak and English! Artur is looking forward to seeing old friends again, meeting new ones, and Gary’s chicken.

Klara Blazkova

This will be Klara’s first summer at Robindel. She is from The Czech Republic. Klara is studying to be a pediatric nurse. She enjoys sports, traveling and meeting new people. Klara speaks Czech, English, Spanish and some French! She is looking forward to meeting new people this summer.

Roberta Gombos

This will be Roberta’s first summer at Robindel. She is from Serbia where she is studying Political Science at University of Szeged. Roberta speaks Hungarian, Serbian and English. She enjoys swimming, reading and traveling and loves learning about new cultures. Roberta is looking forward to developing life long friendships this summer.

Doinita Ionita

This will be Doinita’s first summer at Robindel. She is from Bucharest, Romania and is looking forward to learning about American customs, meeting people from all over the world, and having a great summer.

Daniel Jurovcik

This will be Daniel’s first summer at Robindel. He is from Slovakia where he studies at The University of Economy and Business in Bratislava. Daniel describes himself as a friendly person who loves being around people. He played competitive tennis for 11 years! He is looking forward to working abroad and meeting new people.

Matyas Komlosi

Matyas is joining us for his first summer at Robindel. He is from Hungary where is studies Business Information Systems at Corvinus University of Budapest. Matyas plays the drums and piano all around his country. He also loves sports, especially basketball. Matyas is looking forward to meeting people from around the world, improving his English, and traveling around the USA.

Anna Linzenbold

This will be Anna’s first summer at Robindel. She is from Debrecen, Hungary where she is studying Pharmacy at University of Debrecen. Anna loves science and nature, traveling and getting to know new cultures. She is looking forward to getting to know people from around the world!

Zuzana Musova

This will be Zuzana’s first summer at Robindel. She is from The Czech Republic where she is currently studying Social Work at Tomas Bata University. Zuzana speaks English and German, and she enjoys traveling, going to the gym, and spending time with family and friends. She is looking forward to meeting new people, improving her English and having new experiences this summer.

Tereza Slavikova

Tereza is excited to be back for her third summer. She is from The Czech Republic where she is studying at Palacky University Olomouc. Tereza loves traveling, dancing, sports and having fun with friends. She is looking forward to another amazing summer at Camp Robindel.

Petr Stanovsky

This is Petr’s first summer at Robindel. He is from The Czech Republic and is currently studying History of Arts at The University of Ostrava. Petr has always been interested in American movies, TV shows and music and he loves traveling and meeting new people…so coming to work at Robindel is the perfect adventure for him.

Lili Szekely

Lili is coming from Heves, Hungary for her first Robindel summer. She is currently at university studying General Humanities and Arts. Aside from Hungarian, Lili also speaks English, Spanish and French! Her goal is to open her own art gallery one day. Lili is looking forward to meeting the campers and counselors and learning about a new culture.

Teodora Toth

Teodora is joining us for her first summer at Robindel. She is from Pest, Hungary where she is studying at Budapest University of Technology and Economics. She speaks Hungarian, English and German. Teodora is looking forward to meeting new people and trying new activities this summer.

Lenka Urbancokova

Lenka is coming from Slovakia for her first summer at Robindel. She studies Tourism at The University of Economics in Bratislava. Lenka enjoys sports, nature and meeting new people so camp was a natural choice. She is looking forward to spending time in the USA!

Petra Valentovicova

This is Petra’s first summer at Robindel. She is from Slovakia and is currently studying primary education at Comenius University in Bratislava with plans to become a kindergarten teacher. She speaks Slovak, Czech and English. Petra is looking forward to everything, but mostly to new experiences, friendships and improving her English.
